You may already have taken some homage photography where you’ve not tried to hide the original inspiration but rather celebrated it. Refer back to your personal archive and add one or two to your learning log together with a short caption to provide a context for the shot.
The homage photographs that I had taken were inspired by Bill Brandt (1904-83) and his ‘Nudes’ series. The images that he took were different parts of the body, sometimes the shots were taken at obscure angles so you couldn’t work out what you were initially looking at, but with a second look it became clear. The picture of the ear in Bill Brandts (1904-83) ‘Nudes’ series had text across it which is what initially caught my attention. For my images I wanted to emulate his style of photography used for that series, taking a part of the body and capturing them so they were not obviously identifiable.
The above images are part of Bill Brants (1904-83) ‘Nudes’ series.
